Sit & Go’s are fast-paced, 3-Max Hyper-Turbo Sit & Go tournaments, featuring 500 chip starting stacks. Tournaments have randomly drawn prize pools that will award between two and 12,000 times the buy-in, with prizes of up to $1,000,000 to be won.
Omaha Sit & Go’s play out just like the regular versions of these exciting tourneys, with the only difference being that the game played is Omaha instead of Texas Hold’em. In Omaha, each player receives four hole cards, and must use exactly two of them to make their poker hand. To learn more about this fun, action-packed poker variant, see here.
To get started, select your buy-in and the number of simultaneous tournaments you want to play, and then click the 'Register' button. It’s that easy! You will be seated at a tournament table until two other players have registered.
As soon as a third player registers for your Sit & Go tournament, there will be a random draw to decide how big the tournament prize pool will be. The spinner in the center of the table will display the prize pool to all players.
The first hand will then be dealt and the Sit & Go prize will be up for grabs!
The majority of Sit and Go’s are played as ‘winner-takes-all’ tournaments except for when your Sit & Go hits one of the three highest prize tiers. In these Sit & Go’s no player walks away empty-handed as the second and third-place finishers will also receive 10% of the first-place prize.
PROS:
• Sit & Go tournaments are the easiest way to help you get a basic understanding of the game of poker.
• They don’t last very long (usually only 30-60 minutes depending on the SNG type).
• They’re an easy tournament type to “multi-table” because you can play them straightforward.
• They can be a simple and easy way to help build up a bankroll.
CONS:
• Payouts are often minimal and low compared to the buy-in. Winners won’t receive anything near the amount that MTT winners receive (due to the number of runners).
• • They excitement level can be less than big money MTTs or real cash games.
If you're new to pokxer, Sit & Go’s will help give you a great, basic overall understanding of the game. You’ll quickly learn (through repetition) which hands will make you money, and when to continue in a hand or let it go (fold), after the flop.
Because Sit & Go play is quite automatic most of the way, more experienced players may find it easier to multi-table these tournaments. And, the more tables you play – and play well – the quicker you can build a bankroll with SNGs.
